    Yes. All of our Ramadan food parcels and hot iftar meals are distributed to individuals and families who qualify under the eligible categories outlined in Surah At-Tawbah (9:60).

  • How much does it cost to feed a family during Ramadan?

    The cost varies depending on the country and local food prices. A Ramadan food parcel is designed to provide essential staples for a family for up to one month, while smaller donations can provide hot iftar meals for individuals. You can choose an amount that fits your intention and capacity.

    $175 can provide a family in need with iftars for the entire month of Ramadan. Each pack will contain an average of 58 kilograms of food, including staples, such as sugar, rice, and flour, as well as local preferences, such as chickpeas, lentils, tea, milk powder or pasta.     Gaza: In a context of extreme food insecurity, hot meals distributed consist of rice, onions, garlic, spices and chickpeas, depending on the availability of products in local markets.


    Sudan: In a context of conflict and mass displacement, hot meals include lentils, beans, rice, meat, okra, potatoes, bread, dates and juice.


    Lebanon: In the face of the economic crisis, hot meals include rice, chicken, salad, yogurt, dates and water, providing a balanced meal for vulnerable families.


    Morocco: Hot meals are adapted to local traditions and include soup, hard-boiled egg, chebakia (traditional honey pastry), dates, savory pastries, milk, cheese, natural juice, water, bread, spices, rolls, reghayef, and jam.


    Senegal: Hot meals include rice, a piece of chicken, dates, and a bottle of water, providing essential nutritional support.


    Syrian refugees: The meals distributed consist of cooked rice, grilled chicken, yoghurt and a milk drink (ayran), providing a complete and nutritious meal.


    Yemen: In the context of a severe humanitarian crisis, hot meals include cooked rice, cooked vegetables (potatoes, tomatoes, zucchini, carrots), roast chicken, bread and yoghurt.

  • What is in the food parcels that are distributed?

    The food parcels distributed by Human Appeal are meticulously prepared to meet the specific nutritional needs of each region, providing a variety of essential foods. Each package is adapted to local eating habits, ensuring that beneficiaries receive complete and balanced food assistance.

    Gaza: Amid a protracted humanitarian crisis marked by displacement, food shortages and the collapse of essential services, the packages contain medium-grain rice, white sugar, bulgur, tomato paste, sunflower oil, canned beans, salt, canned chickpeas, green beans and lentils, macaroni, chicken broth powder, halva, tuna, tahini, olive oil, fruit syrup, cottage cheese in brine, canned pineapple, juice powder and honey.


    Sudan: Amid conflict and mass displacement, families lack basic necessities. The packages contain sugar, onions, oil, rice, juice, lentils, kidney beans, dates and flour.


    Lebanon: In the face of the economic crisis and increasing poverty, many families are struggling to put food on the table. The packages contain rice, sugar, yellow and brown lentils, vermicelli, chickpeas, salt, bulgur, tomato paste, vegetable oil, spaghetti, beans, flour, tuna, tahini, processed cheese, canned cold cuts, tea and halva.


    Mauritania: Many vulnerable families face difficulties in accessing adequate food. The packages contain rice, sugar, cooking oil, milk and beans.

    Morocco: In order to support families in precarious situations, the parcels contain flour, sugar, oil, green tea, instant coffee, tomato paste, vermicelli, rice, lentils, chickpeas, cheese, dates, milk and honey.


    Senegal: In areas affected by poverty and food insecurity, the packages contain rice, pasta (spaghetti, macaroni, vermicelli), sugar, oil and powdered milk.


    Somalia: In the face of a chronic food crisis and repeated displacement, the packages contain rice, flour, sugar, cooking oil and dates.


    Syrian refugees: Refugee families face long-term precariousness and limited access to food. The packages contain Egyptian rice, white sugar, bulgur, lentils (large and crushed), black tea, tomato paste, spaghetti, beans, vermicelli, flour, vegetable oil, canned beans and tuna, halva, za'atar, dried chickpeas, dates, jam and green olives.


    Yemen: In one of the world's worst humanitarian crises, families struggle with hunger on a daily basis. The packages contain flour, canned kidney beans, sunflower or corn oil, basmati rice, sugar, salt and dates.

  • How much do I need to give for Zakat al-Fitr in 2026?

    Zakat al-Fitr is an obligatory charity for every member of the household, ensuring that the most vulnerable in our community can celebrate Eid with dignity. To maintain its obligatory status, Zakat al-Fitr must be paid before the Eid prayer. In 2026, Zakat al-Fitr is $10 per person. This sum is used to provide life-saving assistance in the form of food and basic necessities to the most disadvantaged families.
