More about our work in Lebanon

.

Human Appeal has been working in Lebanon for 30 years. Our work has been focused on helping vulnerable Lebanese families, along with Syrian and Palestinian refugees residing in Lebanon.

We’ve been providing education programmes, medical aid and winter survival items for those most in need. We also support orphans so they are able to meet their basic needs, provide families with food parcels during Ramadan and give vulnerable children Eid gifts.

2020 was an exceptionally difficult year. The ongoing economic crisis as well as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Beirut blast has left many vulnerable families in even more fragile conditions.

That is why we’re working to help families through these projects:

Food aid We provided bread packs for 890 Syrian refugee families in south Lebanon, helping to fight hunger and malnutrition.

Mental health support Human Appeal is providing mental health services such as counselling to help those who cannot afford treatment recover from the trauma of the Beirut explosion.

Medical and hygiene assistance We have helped Syrian refugee and low-income Lebanese families reduce their risk of catching coronavirus by providing hygiene kits and medication to those with chronic diseases.
