No Escape from the Heat or the Hardship

We are working in the hardest-hit areas to ease this burden and help families recover their dignity. Your donation supports critical, direct interventions:

enter image description here Emergency Food Packs: Distributing monthly food parcels containing nutritious staples like flour, rice, oil, and lentils to keep families fed.

enter image description here Safe Water Access: Installing solar-powered water pumps and filtration systems so communities have free, reliable access to clean water.

enter image description here Livelihood Assistance: Helping families regain their independence through small-scale agricultural support and livestock distribution.

Right now, Pakistan is enduring extreme, relentless heatwaves, with temperatures in some districts soaring past 46 degrees Celsius. For millions, there is no escape from the heat. In a country struggling with severe economic instability and a lack of safe drinking water, many cannot afford to run a simple fan due to sky-high electricity costs.

This extreme weather is hitting a population already pushed to its absolute limit. On top of these climate shocks, families across Pakistan are fighting a silent daily battle against historic inflation, widespread unemployment, and severe food insecurity. With inflation persisting above 11% and food costs continuing to rise, basic survival has become a monthly struggle.

Human Appeal Canada is on the ground, delivering immediate survival relief to families facing this compounding crisis.

Pakistan Emergency Appeal FAQs

  • What is causing the current crisis in Pakistan?

Pakistan is facing a double crisis. Extreme climate events, like the current deadly heatwaves, are placing massive physical and health strains on the population. At the same time, severe inflation and economic challenges have made food, clean water, and electricity unaffordable for millions of families.

  • Who is most vulnerable during these heatwaves?

Outdoor labourers, children, pregnant women, and the elderly are at the highest risk. Many of these families live in poorly insulated homes without electricity or fans, and they lack access to clean water to cool down, leading to high rates of heatstroke and severe dehydration.

  • How widespread is food insecurity in Pakistan?

Due to rising costs and agricultural disruptions, over 9 million people struggle to access a basic, nutritionally balanced diet, resulting in critical rates of childhood malnutrition.

  • Can I give my Zakat to the Pakistan Emergency Appeal?

Yes. Your Zakat can be used to provide emergency food, clean water, and essential relief to qualifying families living in severe poverty. Human Appeal Canada distributes all Zakat in strict accordance with Islamic guidelines.

Human Appeal is committed to providing aid in the country or program that you select. In the event we complete the programme, exceed the required funds, or are denied access to a particular country for reasons beyond our control, Human Appeal reserves the right to reallocate your donation to another program where it is needed most.
