66 Meals of Hope for Gaza
This year, as we approach the sacred days of Dhul Hijjah, our hearts turn to the people of Gaza—families enduring unimaginable hardship, displacement, and food insecurity.
At Human Appeal, we are committed to ensuring that your Qurbani reaches those who need it most, even in the face of extraordinary challenges.
Why This Campaign Matters
Due to the ongoing war and severe restrictions on access into Gaza, it is currently not possible to carry out Qurbani sacrifices within Gaza itself. But your compassion does not stop at borders, and neither do we.
To overcome these barriers, we have adapted our approach to ensure your Qurbani still makes a meaningful impact.
How It Works
Your Qurbani will be performed in accessible regions outside Gaza, in accordance with Islamic guidelines. The meat will be prepared into nutritious Kabsa meals, a beloved dish made with rice, meat, and essential spices.
Each Qurbani will provide 66 wholesome Kabsa meals.
These meals will then be transported and distributed to families in Gaza as soon as access allows.
More Than a Meal
For many families in Gaza, a single meal can mean relief, dignity, and hope. Your Qurbani is not just a religious obligation. It is a lifeline. By choosing to give through this campaign, you are ensuring that even in the most difficult circumstances, your sacrifice reaches those waiting, hoping, and in need.
Give with Purpose
Let your Qurbani go further this year. Turn one sacrifice into 66 nourishing meals for families facing crisis.
Our 2025 Qurbani Impact in Gaza
Despite closed borders, active conflict, and one of the most complex humanitarian operating environments in the world, Human Appeal's team in Gaza will work throughout Dhul Hijjah 2025 to ensure Qurbani reaches families who need it. Globally, 1.17 million people were reached across 41 countries. Gaza remains among the most critical and logistically challenging distributions in our entire program — and one our teams are committed to fulfilling every year, regardless of the obstacles.

When the Messenger (PBUH) was asked what Qurbani is, he answered, “It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim. For every hair of the Qurbani you receive a reward from Allah.”
(Al-Tirmidhi)
Gaza is facing one of the worst hunger crises in the world. Over 1.6 million people face severe food insecurity and 100,000 children are at risk of malnutrition. Your Qurbani is one of the most direct ways to provide nutritious, calorie-dense food to families who have no reliable access to meals.
A Qurbani share in Gaza costs $384 through Human Appeal Canada. This covers the full cost of the lamb, slaughter, preparation, Kabsa meal production, packaging, and transportation into Gaza. There are no additional charges.
Gaza's closed borders, active conflict, and destroyed infrastructure make delivery significantly more complex and costly than in stable regions. The $384 reflects the genuine cost of performing your Qurbani outside Gaza, transforming it into shelf-stable Kabsa meals, and transporting them into Gaza via Jordan — a process that requires additional logistics, production, and coordination.
Yes. Islamic scholars have confirmed that performing the sacrifice outside Gaza and transporting the meat in — given the extreme circumstances — fully satisfies the requirements of Qurbani. The sacrifice is performed during the days of Eid al-Adha by qualified butchers under the oversight of Islamic scholars, in complete accordance with Sharia guidelines.
Your Qurbani will be performed during the days of Eid al-Adha. The Kabsa meals will be transported into Gaza via Jordan as soon as borders permit. The 1.5-year shelf life ensures meals can be stored safely and distributed immediately once aid access is possible.
The Gaza Kabsa Qurbani involves a complex production and logistics process. Capacity is finite — meals must be produced, packed, and readied for transport within the Dhul Hijjah window. Donating early ensures your share is secured before capacity is reached.
Yes. Simply make your intention at the time of donation. The method of delivery does not affect the validity of your Qurbani — your niyyah is what matters.
They refer to the same act. Qurbani is the term commonly used in South Asia and across the wider Muslim world, while Udhiya is the classical Arabic term. Both refer to the sacrifice performed during the days of Dhul Hijjah.
Every year our team in the field endeavours to ensure your Qurbani is distributed on your behalf in the country you selected. However, in cases where it is no longer possible in the country of your choice due to factors beyond our control, we will ensure it is delivered within the Eid days, to those who need it most in the next nearest country.
