Solar-Powered Water Pumps in Tharparkar

“The best charity is giving water to drink.” (Ahmad)

In drought-hit areas of Pakistan, 30% of homes lack reliable access to clean water, putting the entire community at risk of waterborne diseases and making them vulnerable to the spread of viruses and bacterial infections.

$2,000 – access to a solar-powered water pump supporting 70 people.

$5,000 – access to a solar-powered water pump supporting 175 people.

$20,000 – access to a solar-powered water pump supporting 710 people.

$40,000 – access to a solar-powered water pump supporting 1420 people.

$80,000 – access to a solar-powered water pump supporting 2800 people.

The Gift of Clean Water

When you support this project, you’ll help provide an entire community of 900 people with access to clean water, quenching their thirst and enabling them to grow crops and rear cattle, without worrying about waterborne diseases or walking long distances for the basic right to clean water.

A water well not only provides significant charity, but it also serves as Sadaqah Jariyah, continually benefiting both the community and the giver for as long as it remains in use. Change the future of an entire community and reap the rewards of this blessed act year after year.

Running out of water and time

Water is about much more than quenching thirst; it creates jobs and helps communities lift themselves out of poverty. When families struggle for water, it means they lack clean drinking water, cannot grow food, cannot feed their livestock, cannot maintain hygiene, and cannot produce goods to sell. Without your support, residents will remain trapped in a cycle of water shortages, which is especially dangerous as they try to protect themselves from COVID-19. After years of cyclical drought, 21 million people in Pakistan lack access to clean water, and experts predict the country could run out of water by 2025. A fifth of diseases in Pakistan are linked to poor sanitation and water quality.
