Why Do Qurbani Prices Vary Between Countries? Qurbani prices reflect the real cost of delivering your sacrifice in each location — livestock, logistics, and distribution vary depending on the local economic situation and operating environment.

In countries facing economic collapse or active conflict, costs rise sharply. Syria's hyperinflation and destroyed infrastructure make it our most expensive country at $622.

Gaza is a unique case: with its borders closed and conventional distribution impossible, your Qurbani is performed in East Asia, transformed into 66 ready-to-eat Kabsa meals, and transported to Gaza via Jordan. The $384 price reflects this process.

Wherever you give, all costs are included. Nothing added later.

Every Qurbani Includes:

  • Sharia-compliant slaughter overseen by local Imams and qualified butchers
  • Animals sourced locally from trusted farmers where possible
  • 3–4kg of fresh halal meat distributed per family
  • Multiple families fed from every share
  • Full distribution to verified beneficiary households prioritised by need
  • All costs included. Nothing hidden.

When the Messenger (PBUH) was asked what Qurbani is, he answered, “It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim. For every hair of the Qurbani you receive a reward from Allah.”

Qurbani FAQs

  • Can I give Qurbani in more than one country?

Yes. You can give multiple shares across different countries — for yourself, on behalf of family members, or following the Prophetic Sunnah of giving on behalf of those in the Ummah who cannot afford it. Each additional share is a separate act of worship.

  • Why do prices vary between countries?

Qurbani prices reflect the real cost of delivering the sacrifice in each country — including the local cost of livestock, logistics, transportation, and distribution. Countries with more complex operating environments, higher animal costs, or greater logistical challenges will have higher prices.

  • What is the difference between a cow share and a goat Qurbani?

One cow equals seven Qurbani shares — so a cow share (1/7 of a cow) fulfils one donor's obligation. One goat or sheep equals one full Qurbani. Both are valid. The animal type available depends on the country and local availability.

  • Which countries offer both cow and goat options?

Bangladesh, Somalia and Nigeria offer both cow share and goat options at different price points. Where both are available, the choice will appear at the point of donation with the corresponding price for each.

  • How do I know my Qurbani will be performed correctly in my chosen country?

Human Appeal has operated Qurbani programs for 35 years. Last year we delivered across 20+ countries. Every sacrifice is overseen by local Imams and qualified butchers in full accordance with Sharia guidelines. We pre-purchase animals in advance and manage the entire process from sourcing to distribution.

  • Can I specify a region within a country?

Human Appeal distributes Qurbani to the most vulnerable communities within each country based on our teams' on-the-ground assessment. We are unable to direct donations to specific villages or individuals, but each country page details the regions where distributions take place.

  • What if my chosen country reaches full capacity?

Human Appeal pre-purchases animals based on forecasted donations. If a country reaches capacity, we will notify you and offer the option to redirect your donation to another country or to our Where Most Needed fund.

  • What is the difference between Qurbani and Udhiya?

They refer to the same act. Qurbani is the term commonly used in South Asia and across the wider Muslim world, while Udhiya is the classical Arabic term. Both refer to the sacrifice performed during the days of Dhul Hijjah.

Every year our team in the field endeavours to ensure your Qurbani is distributed on your behalf in the country you selected. However, in cases where it is no longer possible in the country of your choice due to factors beyond our control, we will ensure it is delivered within the Eid days, to those who need it most in the next nearest country.
