The situation in Lebanon

This Ramadan, hundreds of thousands of people have been uprooted by conflict in Lebanon, many sleeping in cars, on roadsides, or packed into makeshift shelters in converted schools and public buildings.

The latest airstrikes have only deepened an already devastating humanitarian crisis. Beneath this lies an economy that has been hollowing out since 2019; inflation hovers around 15%, and food prices have climbed even faster, squeezing households that were already on the edge. Rental costs are climbing, jobs are scarcer, and basic services like water, electricity, and healthcare are stretched well past their limits.

Meanwhile, international attention and funding continue to drift elsewhere, leaving Lebanon's most vulnerable people to navigate a deepening crisis largely on their own.
