Human Appeal Brings Sustainable Solar Energy to Rehabilitated Homes in Northwest Syria

Human Appeal expands rehabilitation efforts in Northwest Syria with sustainable solar installations

• Human Appeal is working to install solar energy systems across 52 rehabilitated homes in Northwest Syria, providing critical infrastructure for the community.

• Each household receives two solar panels, a battery, and an inverter to support essential services requiring electricity.

Mississauga, ON – 13 October 2026: – Human Appeal, a global humanitarian non-profit, is continuing its rehabilitation efforts in Northwest Syria by installing solar energy systems. Human Appeal’s field team has begun installing solar energy systems for families in the Latakia countryside.

This latest initiative follows the successful rehabilitation of 52 homes in the area, providing residents with a more reliable and sustainable source of electricity. In regions where access to dependable power grids remains severely limited, these solar installations offer a vital lifeline. As part of the intervention, each of the rehabilitated households is receiving a comprehensive solar energy package consisting of two solar panels, a battery, and an inverter.

The systems are specifically designed to meet families' essential daily electricity needs, enabling reliable lighting, device charging, and the operation of basic household appliances. A total of 94 people are directly benefiting from this solar support, significantly improving their living conditions and enhancing community resilience.

"Many thanks to the organization for helping us. They rehabilitated our house and provided us with lighting, solar panels, an inverter and battery," said Riyad who lives in Northwest Syria. These essential upgrades provide households with sustainable energy and long-term shelter security, easing the heavy daily burdens of displacement.
