Behind the Scenes: Human Appeal Canada's Recent Visit to Jordan

Amman, Jordan — Our team recently completed a two-day operational visit to Jordan to oversee key Qurbani and emergency relief projects supporting Gaza. Over 1,000 food parcels have been dispatched from this operation, each providing a month's supply of basic necessities for families facing acute food insecurity.

Jordan serves as a critical logistics hub for our Gaza operations due to its proximity to the region, established humanitarian infrastructure, and longstanding partnerships with local organizations.

Day 1: Quality Assurance and Distribution Prep

We began with an inspection of the KSA Adahi and Hadi project facilities at the refrigerated warehouse complex. The sacrificial meat is processed in Makkah, where all fat and bones are removed before being vacuum sealed. This preservation method maintains quality for up to two years without refrigeration, ensuring the meat remains safe and nutritious throughout the complex distribution process to Gaza.

Later that day, our team participated in a food parcel packing session alongside content creators who are helping document our Gaza relief efforts. Each parcel contains essential cooking staples: flour, lentils, beans, oil, sugar, chicken stock, and canned sardines. These items are carefully selected to provide families with the building blocks for nutritious meals over a month-long period.

Day 2: Gaza Supply Chain Coordination

We supervised the loading of multiple trucks carrying completed food parcels destined for Gaza. Coordinating cross-border humanitarian logistics requires careful planning with various stakeholders to navigate access restrictions.

In the afternoon, we met with Dr. Hussein Al Shebli, Secretary General of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), to review our collaborative Qurbani canned meat project and discuss distribution timelines.

What's Next

We'll continue providing updates as these relief supplies reach beneficiaries on the ground.
