For five days, Human Appeal Canada is on the ground in Sudan, witnessing firsthand the life-changing work being delivered by Human Appeal Sudan in communities devastated by conflict, displacement, and poverty. Leading this journey is Rania Lawendy, Senior Advisor to the CEO of Human Appeal Canada, humanitarian advocate, educator, and renowned Canadian social activist. She is joined by Muhsin Bin Yahya (The Muslim Boxer), helping share the stories, challenges, and resilience of the Sudanese people with supporters across Canada and beyond.
This visit is more than a field mission. It's an opportunity to show donors exactly where their generosity goes — from bakeries and water points to hospitals and hearing aid clinics — and the lives being transformed through their support.
Sudan's Humanitarian Crisis: A Nation in Need
Since conflict escalated in April 2023, Sudan has become the world's largest displacement crisis. More than 14 million people have been forced from their homes, while millions more face food insecurity, limited access to healthcare, and shortages of clean water. Across the country, infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, leaving vulnerable families struggling to meet their most basic needs. Children are growing up without access to education, healthcare, or the stability they deserve.
Yet amid these immense challenges, Human Appeal Sudan continues to deliver vital aid where it is needed most.
